SCHOOL-AGE CHILD CARE INSTRUCTOR (FLOAT)

7:00-9:00 A.M. AND/OR 3:45-6:00 PM - MONDAY-FRIDAY

GENERAL

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The School-Age Child Care instructor is under the supervision of the School-Age Child Care Supervisor and will be responsible for the implementation of a before and after school enrichment program for elementary children, which will provide developmentally appropriate experiences to meet or exceed Michigan Child Care Licensing guidelines.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

* Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for school-age children in a safe and nurturing environment.

* Plan and supervise assignments for the Child Development Assistant.

* Follow LPS Policies and Procedures and State of Michigan Licensing Rules for School-Age Programs.

* Initiate and maintain positive relationships with program families and LPS personnel.

* Coordinate the on-site monthly payment collections.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's Degree in related field of study preferred

OR a minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit, 12 of which are in a child-related field of study

OR Associate's Degree in related field of study with 12 semester hours in a child-related field of study

2. Must have demonstrated ability to work well with children, parents and staff.

This is an hourly position. Rate of pay will be discussed with the administrator at the time of interview.
