QUALIFICATIONS:

* Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate

* Highly Qualified in Mathematics

* Excellent verbal and written skills

* Communicates well with students, staff, parents, and administration

* Knowledge of individual student learning styles, co teaching and classroom management skills

* Willing to work a flexible schedule

* Knowledge of Everyday Mathematics and Connected Mathematics

* Must be willing to participate in on-going professional development

* Demonstrates competence in administering, interpreting, and utilizing data from individual student assessments in order to improve instruction and improve student achievement

* Understand how to develop an intellectual learning community in the classroom

* Knowledge of inquiry based instruction

* Familiar with the MTSS process and Tiered Instruction.

* Demonstrated teaching skills.

* Understanding of current instructional technology and educational software.

* Ability to work with students with various academic needs.

* Knowledge of Michigan Academic Standards (MAS) and State and District Math assessments.

* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

JOB DUTIES are (but not limited to):

* Recommend appropriate materials

* Collaborate with teachers in the diagnosis of students' individual learning needs

* Participate in parent/teacher conferences

* Integrate technology into lesson design and instructional delivery system

* Coordinate and implement extended day learning opportunities

* Adhere to other duties and activities as assigned by supervising administrators

* Knowledge of differentiated instruction and ability to design differentiated lessons for students

* Work collaboratively with the school instructional team to develop a comprehensive program for individual students including such activities as individualized instructional plans, small group, and whole group instruction

* Provide assistance and support to students in the MTSS process

* Work with individual students and student groups to provide effective math interventions to improve student performance.

* Collaborate with MTSS Math Specialist and classroom teachers in the developing and implementing of effective intervention programs.

* Assist classroom teacher and MTSS Math Specialist in the delivery of district-wide instructional initiatives.

* Use a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support math.

* Collect data and progress monitor students in intervention groups.

* Participate in data meetings.
