Lead​/Assistant Teacher

Job Description

We are looking for a qualified individual to prepare small children for kindergarten by easing them into organized education. You will teach them important foundations skills that they will encounter when they begin K-12 education.

A preschool teacher must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can easily matriculate in the next level of education.

• Provide a stimulating, safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills.
• Meets the physical and emotional needs of each child.
• Supervise all classroom, daily routine activities and prepare lessons.
• Satisfies the developmental needs of each child through child/adult interactions and planned activities.
• Establish and maintains a positive working relationship with parents and other staff members.
• Establish a nurturing relationship with the children in addition to serving as a positive role model.
• Treat children in a positive manner that encourages individuality and positive self-esteem.
• Familiarize self with and abides by the Center’s policies and procedures.
• Responsible for completing designated childcare /preschool housekeeping duties.
• Ensure that the classroom is prepared before children arrive, cleaned at end of each shift.
• Attend all Staff training and safety trainings.
• Arrive to work, meetings, and trainings promptly.
• Conduct parent conferences on each child’s development.
• Complete other duties as mutually agreed upon by the Center’s Director.
