Graduate Programs Outreach Specialist

Essential functions (job duties):

Develop and implement outreach programs and initiatives to increase enrollment, enhance retention, and improve completion rates of graduate students in the Wayne State University Law School. Facilitate campus-wide efforts to further develop quality of Wayne Law graduate programs and expand partnerships with domestic and international pipeline institutions. Facilitate centralized effort to create, identify and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and enroll students from diverse populations for all graduate programs in the Law School.

Collaborate with Law School stakeholders, Senior Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management, Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Legal Programs, and Wayne Law’s Marketing and Communications department to develop a strategic marketing direction for graduate programs. Use appropriate branding and marketing. strategies on specific projects and initiatives for the Law School, meeting the needs of the Law School and remaining consistent/supportive of the overall WSU marketing initiative.

Maintain a strategic outlook on current trending and growing interest in graduate programs to support efforts to yield more graduate students, from admission and enrollment through graduation. Build and support recruiting strategies and programs for Wayne Law Graduate Programs. Working with other key stakeholders to develop forms and records to document program activities.

Track, monitor and assess marketing and communication activities to increase visibility of graduate programs. Collaborate with others on creating and rolling out graduate program events and activities. Provide scholarship information, student resources for out-of-state and/or international students.

Develop and implement various projects and initiatives to promote and increase graduate student admission, enrollment and retention for the Law School. Involve faculty and staff in targeted initiatives and work to identify specific needs and strategies. Build and maintain relationships with school/college stakeholders, including international recruitment consultants, in order to promote growth and improvement of graduate programs.

Identify and establish metrics on graduate recruitment, enrollment and retention. Collect and use data to identify opportunities and address issues related to recruitment, retention and graduation of graduate students.

Create and implement goals and objectives to achieve successful outcomes in graduate degree programs at Wayne Law. Develop and manage new enrollment and retention initiatives relative to graduate programs to support the strategic direction of the Law School and University.

Identify potential recruiting relationships with targeted colleges and universities. Build and maintain partnerships with external stakeholders. Attend key national, regional (including Canada) and in-state events. Establish and foster community relationships within the Michigan and the Great Lakes Regions.

Facilitate and support the delivery of services, on behalf of the Law School, to graduate students as well as school/college units serving graduate students. Support curriculum development and innovation.

Assist Law School Leadership with grant writing and program activities associated with graduate students and graduate programming within the School when such opportunities arise.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education Bachelor's degree

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Marketing, Communication, or a related field from an accredited college or university; or equivalent combination of education/experience. Master’s degree is preferred.
