Summer Assistant STEAM Engineer Instructor – Teaching Assistant (Detroit)

We are looking for an energetic Assistant STEAM Engineer Instructor – Teaching Assistant to join our team! As an Assistant STEAM Engineer Instructor, you will assist the classroom teacher with delivering engaging hands‑on STEAM learning experiences. You will help create a welcoming learning environment and provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, and has a passion for teaching!
Responsibilities:
- Support classroom instruction by assisting students individually and in small groups
- Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, and during activities
- Reinforce classroom rules and behavioral expectations
- Help prepare materials and organize classroom activities
- Maintain accurate student records and assist with tracking progress
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and lead teacher as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant is preferred
- Familiarity with child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
- Ability to follow safety, health, and sanitation protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Energetic and positive attitude
- Ability to pass a background check
- Competitive Compensation (based on experience)
- Hands‑on experience with innovative STEAM education
Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
