Position Summary

The Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Program Associate I (PA I) ensures the District maintains accurate, high quality and timely data pertaining to projects, initiatives, activities, and ongoing monitoring of ESE services and programs. PA I have a strong technical understanding of how teachers and staff use student information systems and will appropriately arrange data collected in a relevant manner for ESE administrative use, presentations, and reporting to District stakeholders.

The PA I will continuously model the District’s core values of Students First, Excellence, Integrity, Equity, Service, and Tenacity to promote and sustain a positive climate and culture within the work environment. The PA I will proficiently use a range of technology and databases to create impactful presentations, provide accurate reporting of ESE information, and assist with developing Board documents for senior leaders.

This position will serve as a support for the department’s contract and procurement process, assist with ESE project tasks, and ensure accurate record keeping including back up to the preparation of payroll budget and payroll records. The PA I will assist the ESE administration with the training to support staff as it relates to budget reporting, budget development, and budget monitoring.

The ideal PA I for the Office of Exceptional Student Education is a professional who recognizes the impact their work approach has on students and educators and cares deeply about system improvement for the District.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience supporting others through changes and new initiatives
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills with a customer service-oriented mindset
  • Highly organized and adept at utilizing demonstrated proficiency with technology to complete work, familiarity with Office 365 applications required
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to collect and report on data, conduct analyses, and propose recommendations for improvements to training and support systems, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously within a data driven accountability environment
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive records, including personally identifiable information of students and staff
  • Ability to adapt to changes quickly, proposing and implementing thoughtful solutions
  • Experience working with computer programs/digital databases
  • Ability to assist with organize and execute workshops and events with many participants
  • Strong willingness to learn and collaborate with others to produce high quality work
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and professionalism
  • Program or project management experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation to transport ESE materials to District locations, as needed.
  • ASL preferred
Essential Functions
  • Arrange interpreters for staff, students, and community engagement events.
  • Conduct site visits as needed.
  • Support the onboarding process for new ESE hires as required.
  • Provide general operational support to all ESE administrators including ESE and Finance Manager(s).
  • Collect, compile and report data in visual format related to progress made on ESE key performance indicators, and report results to ESE departments and ESE Leadership.
  • Monitor and report progress on ESE key performance indicators across all ESE departments.
  • Engage positively, productively and efficiently with all District and community constituents; maintain professionalism and customer service orientation when facing challenging situations or escalations.
