SummaryThis position is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in athletics.
Responsibilities- Confer regularly with School Operations Managers, School Principal or designees regarding student attendance and welfare.
- Communicate with parents, students, staff, and others in person, by telephone or letter to provide information on attendance issues and meet district and state absence notification requirements.
- Maintain attendance records, schedules, and files (manual and computer) such as contact and telephone logs, student attendance, and school calendars to provide reliable information in compliance with district policies.
- Prepare reports and written materials (e.g., passes, standardized and special attendance reports, letters to parents) to convey information regarding school and district activities and procedures.
- Process documents and materials (e.g., attendance records, student placement, disciplinary and/or suspension notices) to disseminate information to appropriate parties.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, parents, probation officers, other schools, and students to provide information and directions as required.
- Recommend pupil referrals to the school principal or designee for agencies such as child guidance clinics, family services and placement agencies, and other institutions.
- Assist the principal or School Attendance Team with coordinating, referring and submitting the School Attendance Review Board referrals to the District School Attendance Review Board.
- Participate in in‑service training of school personnel in matters related to student attendance and welfare.
- Enforce district rules and regulations related to school attendance.
- Associate’s degree required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Experience working with children in an educational setting.
- Ability to collaborate with staff and community.
- Knowledge of district/state/federal laws and regulations relating to child welfare and attendance.
- Knowledge of youth programs, school and community activities.
- Computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in office procedures, fax, printer, computer and copier.
- Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively in English with proper grammar.
- Ability to problem‑solve.
- Ability to organize, manage and direct work, and establish cooperative working relationships.
