Associate Professor – History

Wayne State University (Detroit campus) is seeking an experienced Associate Professor in History.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach university courses in history including HIST 3400 – The Car in American Life and Labor, HIST 3650 – History of Detroit, HIST 5290/7290 – Workers in American History, HIST 5300/7300 – American Capitalism Since 1945, HIST 5996 – Capstone, and HIST 8030 – Modern American History.
• Advise students.
• Conduct research in 20th century labor history in the United States.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Department of Public Health to develop courses on addiction issues in the workplace.
• Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and present at professional conferences.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in History.
• At least 36 months of university teaching experience.
• Ph.D. dissertation in 20th century labor history.
• One monograph in 20th century labor history published by an academic press.
