Position SummaryThe Teacher Consultant for the Visually Impaired provides instructional services to students with a visual impairment or students with a visual impairment in combination with additional disabilities ages 0-26. The Teacher Consultant for the Visually Impaired provides pre-referral and consultation services to students, parents and staff. Conducts evaluations and provides information for Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetings, Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), Individualized Education Planning Team (IEPT) and related agencies.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree required for Teacher Consultant;
Valid Michigan teacher certificate eligible for approval through the Michigan Department of Education with an endorsement in one or more areas of special education. Endorsement in Visual Impairment required. Certification in Orientation and Mobility preferred. - Minimum of three years of satisfactory teaching experience for Teacher Consultant; not less than two years of teaching the visually impaired preferred.
$52,361.00 – $92,683.00 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
