Essential
Duties include:
- Establish and maintain a safe classroom/laboratory/clinical environment conducive to student learning.
- Prepare for and instruct assigned course(s) through the use of appropriate learning experiences and materials which provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals.
- Adhere to course syllabus and comply with curriculum and assessment guidelines.
- Evaluate student progress through day-to day-evaluation, written examinations and overall observation.
- Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued student growth, returning graded assignments to students in a timely manner, and assigning final grades for all students, meeting or beating all institutional deadlines for completion.
- Actively support student success through guidance, advising and assisting individual students as needed.
- Participate in professional activities, which could include, but are not limited to, curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision and other professional planning activities.
- Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire ( SOQ ) process.
- Maintain levels of professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
- Participate in Department Meetings
- Participate in high school parent teacher conferences, open house events, and community partner events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Hours/
Schedule:
- Schedules vary according to class schedules. Part time Instructors may teach up to (8) eight contact hours per week or 120 contact hours per semester. The terms of employment are based on college enrollment and class enrollment. Some opportunities will require travel to Chelsea High School five (5) days a week.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing ( BSN ) degree.
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse License in good standing.
- Previous work experience which includes two (2) year in extended care facility or hospice.
- Ability to teach online, blended, and face-to-face.
- Ability to teach a flexible schedule that may include some weekends.
- Ability to appropriately use standard office and instructional software and tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills.
- Recent, successful, post-secondary teaching experience in HSC courses.
- Master of Science in Nursing ( MSN ) degree.
- Current State of Michigan Nurse Aide Trainer permit
- Curriculum and assessment experience, including distance learning and online course design, development, and delivery method experience preferred.
- American Heart instructor certification
