We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Pupil Accountant to join our Team!
This is a temporary position for up to 12 weeks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Michigan Pupil Accounting, (i.e. attendance and records).
  • Bachelor's degree required in business, education or similar.
  • NATURE OF THE POSITION:

    The Pupil Accountant is responsible for the oversight and operation of all applicable regulatory requirements and standards at the Academy.

    RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

    The Pupil Accountant Coordinator will:

  • Maintain all student records/files.
  • Prepare all district reports related to student enrollment as required by the Academy, Wayne County RESA, the authorizer and state and federal reporting agencies.
  • Implement Academy's pupil accounting activities and procedures as required by Wayne County RESA, authorizer and the Michigan Department of Education ("MDE").
  • Submit the Academy SRSD and CEPI reports related to all phases of student enrollment and accounting, as required by Wayne County RESA, authorizer and the MDE.
  • Develop and oversee all activities related to the Academy's annual student enrollment
  • Conduct the Academy's annual student enrollment
  • Prepare Academy's materials for new student enrollment and
  • Prepare state reports related to the Academy's enrollment, yearly calendar, clock hours, days of instruction, etc., as required by Wayne County RESA, authorizer and the MDE.
  • Develop and administer the Academy's policies and procedures related to student enrollment and
  • Knowledge of database systems utilized for:
    • Enrollment
    • Attendance
    • Master Class Schedule
    • Student Schedules
    • Grade Reporting (report cards, progress reports)
    • Transcripts
    • Master Calendar
    • Behavior
    • Food Service
    • Special Education
    • Gradebook
    • Teacher, Parent and Student Connect
  • Input all Academy data related to K-8 student enrollment, faculty roster, master class schedule, student schedules and master calendar.
  • Work with Wayne County RESA as liaison between Wayne County RESA and the Academy.
  • Oversee management of the Academy's Parent Connect and Student Connect modules:
    • Review student and parent applications for
    • Assign student and parent
    • Provide and assist with student and parent training for Student
    • Assist in preparation of a handbook to be distributed to parents regarding Parent Connect use policies.
    • Monitor events listed by the Academy's administration, faculty and staff (make sure items are current and correct).
    • Maintain files (g. applications, legal notices.)
  • Provide administrative support to all Academy administrators as necessary, as well as any other duties as determined by administration.
  • PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    This position requires extensive standing and walking throughout work shift. Ability to stoop, crouch, kneel and bend. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 30 pounds. Ability to use senses: sight, hearing, smell and touch.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    Satisfactory criminal background check.
