We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Resource Room Teacher to join our Team!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in special education or related field;
Masters preferred - State of Michigan teacher certificate with one of the following endorsements: SA, SC, SE, SM
- Experience working with students in a variety of learning disabilities
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and special education (SPED) laws
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
The Resource Room Teacher is committed to providing individualized attention and support to students who need it the most. You will play a critical role in helping students overcome their challenges and achieve their goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to support student learning.
- Collaborate with regular education teachers and other special education staff to ensure a seamless educational experience for students.
- Assess student progress and modify instruction as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and other important information.
- Communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders to keep them informed of student progress and any concerns.
- Provide a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and growth.
- Additional duties as assigned
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff
- Experience in behavior management and intervention strategies
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in special education
- Advanced training in specific learning disabilities or disorders
- Knowledge of assistive technology tools and resources
- Ability to effectively differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
