In accordance with the Agreement between Detroit Federation of Teachers (DFT) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.
Position Summary:
The Special Instructor assists the Day Trade Teacher with instructional tasks assigned to individual students or small groups of students in-classroom. The Special Instructor observes student performance and assist in the implementation of appropriate instructional activities planned by the Day Trade Teacher. The Special Instructor assistance enables teachers
¿ capacity to effectively implement identified core or universal instructional practices for individual students or small groups of students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
- Two (2) years or 4000 hours of related work experience in the vocational content of the teaching assignment.
- Candidate must be able to work with high school aged youth on foundations in the vocational content of the teaching assignment.
- Entry-level problem-solving skills are a must, with strong technical aptitude.
