Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at KI Sawyer Elementary as a 1st Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment, encouraging students to develop a love for learning while meeting their academic, social, and emotional needs. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive classroom where all students can thrive.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to the diverse learning styles of students.
- Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and a love of learning.
- Assess and monitor student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and share best practices for effective teaching strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns.
- Foster social-emotional learning by teaching conflict resolution, teamwork, and self-regulation skills.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
- Maintain a well-organized classroom that is conducive to learning and displays student work.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.
- Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all students.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification for elementary education.
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of child development and effective teaching strategies for diverse learners.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and adapt instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
