Special Education Teacher (Certified or Permit)Full Time Detroit, MI, US
Salary Range: $29.00 To $50.00 Hourly
Reports To:Coordinator/Case Manager, Instructional Coach - Special Education, or Director of Special Education
About the Role:We’re looking for a passionate Special Education Permit Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support for students with disabilities. You’ll implement IEPs, manage classroom behavior, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.
What You’ll Do:- Deliver individual and small-group instruction aligned with the general education curriculum
- Prepare and manage IEPs in collaboration with families and IEP teams
- Apply classroom modifications, accommodations, and behavior interventions
- Consult with teachers and staff to support student learning
- Participate in Child Study, eligibility, and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Maintain accurate student records and track progress
- Enrollment in a certification program and eligibility for a special education permit
- Knowledge of K-12 special education requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based tools
- Professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
