Onward Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Agriculture Teacher General Education Teacher to join a supportive school community in Hudson County, Illinois
. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction in Agricultural Studies while fostering academic achievement. This educator will create an engaging high school classroom environment that supports all learners.
- Location: Hudson County, Illinois
- Position Type: 35 hours per week | School Year
- Develop and deliver instruction in agricultural subjects such as animal science, plant science, agribusiness, and agricultural mechanics.
- Create and implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Supervise hands-on learning experiences, including labs, greenhouses, school farms, and agricultural shop activities while maintaining safety standards.
- Advise and support student participation in FFA activities, leadership development, competitions, and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs.
- Collaborate with families, staff, and community partners to promote student success, career readiness, and agricultural education opportunities.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
- Holds or is eligible to obtain an Illinois Career and Technical Education (CTE) Occupational Educator Endorsement in Agriculture, or has sufficient agriculture industry experience to qualify for an Agricultural Career and Technical Education (ACA) credential
. - Possesses a valid HX Science Endorsement
, allowing instruction in Biology and Zoology at the secondary (high school) level. - Experience teaching agricultural education courses such as animal science, plant science, agribusiness, agricultural mechanics, natural resources, or related subjects.
- Knowledge of and experience supporting FFA (Future Farmers of America) programs, student leadership development, and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects.
- Strong classroom management, curriculum development, and instructional skills, with the ability to engage high school students in both classroom and hands-on agricultural learning environments.
