Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Academic Services Officer II
- College of Nursing at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):- Provide academic advising and support to College of Nursing undergraduate and graduate students. Manage an assigned advising caseload/population, which may change based on enrollment, staffing, and College needs.
- Provide proactive and intrusive advising through individual and group advising, outreach, and ongoing engagement. Advise prospective and current students on admission and degree requirements, academic policies, progression, graduation, and certification.
- Monitor academic progress, identify and engage at-risk or off-track students, coordinate interventions, and connect students with appropriate College and University resources. Maintain accurate advising records, plans of work, tracking systems, and caseload data to support retention, progression, graduation, and enrollment forecasting.
- Support admission processing, including application and transcript review, verification of requirements, admission decisions, applicant communication, and new student orientation.
- Participate in recruitment and outreach activities, including information sessions, open houses, college fairs, and community events. Recruitment may require travel and work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Support College enrollment, retention, scholarship, and student success initiatives and assigned projects. Collaborate with Office of Student Affairs leadership, faculty, program directors, and University partners to support student success and degree completion.
- Collect, track, and report student and enrollment data and provide data support to College leadership and program directors as required.
- Serve on College and University committees and support institutional priorities. Work independently with minimal supervision and maintain flexibility as assigned programs, populations, caseloads, and responsibilities change based on College needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree required in Counseling, Education or related field.
- Previous work experience in higher education preferred
- Demonstrated excellence in written, oral and interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in time management and organizational skills.
- Experience with academic advising, mentoring, and establishing rapport with students.
