Transfer and adult learner specialists are of increasing importance on college campuses to support recruitment and student success.

This position serves as a direct point-of-contact for adult learners and colleges/schools to support students in transition (no college or some college).Support includes recruitment, onboarding, and intake advising that aligns with best practices, strategic enrollment management, market conditions, and momentum milestones initiatives.

This position reports to the Associate Director of Adult Learner Success.

Essential functions

Direct Adult Learner Support - Provides direct support to prospective and current adult learners through transition advising, recruitment, onboarding, and engagement initiatives. Participates in individualized pre-enrollment planning sessions, workshops, outreach activities, and student success programming designed to support persistence and degree completion.

Program and Initiative Support - Supports adult learner and re-engagement initiatives, including Warrior Way Back, Wayne Advantage–Macomb, and Returning Warriors. Assists with outreach, communication, case management, and coordination efforts to improve re-enrollment outcomes and optimize student conversion and retention across the student lifecycle.

Collaboration and Partnership Engagement - Collaborates with schools/colleges, and other partners to support the development and implementation of adult learner initiatives. Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance strategic enrollment and engagement efforts.

Recruitment and Outreach Support - Supports recruitment and outreach activities on- and off-campus by maintaining knowledge of academic programs, enrollment trends, transfer pathways, and market conditions. Communicates university policies, transfer opportunities, admissions processes, deadlines, and student resources to prospective students and partners. Assists with identifying opportunities to expand adult learner and transfer enrollment.

Assessment, Reporting, and Operational Support - Compiles and shares data and analytics to support KPI tracking, program assessment, equity-focused analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. Assists with maintaining statistical, budgetary, and progress reports related to areas of responsibility and supports capacity-building initiatives as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree–Master’s degree required for ASO II
