This role requires strong experience with PLC platforms—particularly Allen-Bradley, and Siemens. The job involves hands-on system development, working closely with controls systems and hardware integration, and collaboration to define automation needs and turn them into reliable production-floor solutions.
- Electrical design - diagrams, panel drawings, wiring schematics etc.
- Design PLC ladder logic supporting the controls interface
- Lead design reviews in house and with the customer
- Develop BOM
- Upgrades and repairs to controls equipment
- Perform equipment start up
- Ability to travel 35% for project implementation
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime when required
Skills & Requirements
- Experience with Rockwell PLC (Control Logix and Compact Logix), ideally with Siemens, Automation Direct and HMI experience too
- Expert knowledge of ladder logic architecture
- At least 5 years of experience in PLC Programming and commissioning new equipment with motion control
- AutoCAD Electrical experience
- Knowledge of controls devices (sensors, switches, frequency, servo drives, I/O)
