Job Overview:Within our organization, the Controls Engineer is responsible for the upkeep and improvement of all automation production equipment. Work towards continuous improvement of processes, with input from Manufacturing Engineers, Operators, and Management.
Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Assist with Machine Breakdowns when maintenance cannot fix in timely manner
- When required, interface with other functions (Manufacturing Engineers/Maintenance/New Model Launch/IT)
- Develop and Upgrade Vision System to World Class Standards
- Provide tools for useful data flow for manufacturing purposes, includes Machine data/Automated Text messages/Reporting Services/Etc.
- Assist with any additional tasks as assigned by the company
- Programming and updating PLCs (Programming Logic Controller) Plant-wide responsibility;
Allen Bradley mandatory - Programming and updating HMI (Human Machine Interface) Plant-wide responsibility
- Trouble-shooting and resetting robots and cobots
- Experience in/with Robotics suppliers such as Fanuc, ABB, Kuka
- Make programming changes in the event of design changes to robots/cobots
- Experience with electrical design, understanding and reading prints, working with OEM’s to ensure quality design standards
Mechanical Engineering Focus – 20%
- Plastic welding operations (vibration and ultrasonic) (not a requirement, but helpful)
- Keep all operations equipment running
- Proactive and timely response and reactions to issues
Required Skills/Education/
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have/possess the following qualifications:
- Must be willing to work NIGHT SHIFT (6pm - 4:30am - 4x10hrs)
- Bachelor’s Degree is highly recommended, however willing to accept an Associates degree with experience
- 2-5 years’ experience in machine startup/debugging is required
- Ability to communicate technical data (PLC ladder logic) to staff employees on the floor and management to allow quicker troubleshooting.
- Knowledge and experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs/HMIs is mandatory
- Vision/Camera systems experience is required.
- Cognex and Keyence systems preferred
- SQL 2008 or newer.
