Piping Designer

Detail-oriented, reliable, creative team player capable of designing piping systems. Develop piping work packages via hand-sketches utilizing AutoCAD 2D or AutoCAD Plant 3D.

• AutoCAD 2D
• AutoCAD Plant3D or CADWorx Experience
• Navisworks Simulate/Manage
• Autodesk Re Cap
• Microsoft Office Suite Outlook/Excel/Word

• Interpret PIDs and piping schematics
• Interpret existing drawings for plot plans, equipment, foundations, structural and piping systems
• Interpret laser scan data
• Interpret and or develop field sketches
• Interpret and understand survey data
• Interpret and applies industry standards (ASME B31.3) and client specific specifications
• Understands basic stress concepts for piping and can develop stress sketches
• Understands tie-ins and basic construction strategy for piping and equipment
• Understands leak testing for piping systems
• Understands check and back check of drawings and isometrics
• Familiar with piping fittings, valve types, piping materials and is aware of their importance in piping system design
• Familiar with basic routing strategy and field support schemes for piping systems
• Has working knowledge of and interfaces with other disciplines and their documents
• Has ability to adapt to and understand priorities and deliverables of various disciplines
• Capable of field evaluation and measurement or survey of piping systems
• Capable of providing quality control and review of drawings produced by others
• Capable of estimating and BOM creation for piping and structural systems
• Capable of developing piping line lists, plans, elevations, isometrics and spool drawings
• Displays problem solving skills and spatial awareness

Experience:

Minimum 5 years, Maximum 20 years.

Proficiency with 2D&3D design, Point Cloud integration
