Sr. Commodity Buyer

We are seeing a strong uptick in hiring across Purchasing and Supply Chain with several Tier 1 Automotive suppliers in the Detroit area. We are currently partnering with multiple clients seeking experienced Senior Commodity Buyers.

• Metro Detroit locations including Auburn Hills, Plymouth, and Novi

• Senior Commodity Buyer – Plastic Injection Molded Parts & Tooling – $115K + Bonus – Auburn Hills (Hybrid)
• Senior Commodity Buyer – Plastic Resins (PP, ABS, Nylon) – $115K + Bonus – Auburn Hills (Hybrid)
• Senior Commodity Buyer – Stampings & Tool Dies – $120K–$135K – Plymouth (Hybrid)
• Senior Commodity Buyer – Forging, Casting & Machining – $120K + Bonus – Novi (Hybrid)

• 5+ years of experience in automotive purchasing or commodity management
• Experience managing direct material commodities within a Tier 1 or OEM environment
• Strong negotiation skills and supplier development experience
• Understanding of cost breakdowns, tooling, and manufacturing processes
  
  Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and finance

• Develop and execute commodity strategies aligned with company objectives
• Lead supplier negotiations for cost, quality, delivery, and tooling investments
• Manage RFQs, sourcing decisions, and supplier performance metrics
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
• Support program launches and ensure supply chain readiness
• Monitor market trends and material indices impacting assigned commodities
