Job Description Summary

Dauch is seeking an ambitious Senior Industrial Engineer to join our world‑class team. This is a hybrid role located at our World Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.

Job Description
  • Develop labor standards by analyzing work samples and methods; measuring work performance.
  • Improve labor utilization by studying work methods; testing modifications; designing new methods; recommending job restructuring.
  • Improve workflow by studying process flow charts; recommending modifications in workflow, work stations and product; developing new procedures; recommending equipment modifications and purchases.
  • Reduce waste by studying methods, equipment, and operator techniques; recommending changes; identifying and analyzing waste.
  • Implement work improvement programs by conferring with management and engineering staff.
  • Prepare work‑analysis information and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
  • Regularly coach others using skills and business knowledge.
  • Complete work improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors.
  • Assist in the development of annual budget activities and track monthly performance.
  • Maintain operations guidelines by writing and updating policies, procedures and methods.
  • Protect organization value by keeping information confidential; cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
  • Contribute to industrial engineering and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
  • Responsible for productivity initiative database management, and monthly status review preparation for senior management.
  • Develop and evaluate pilot programs, simulations, and prototypes, as well as capacity, headcount, and cycle time models.
  • Implement new and enhanced processes and tools.
  • Understand and adhere to established company standards and systems.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in a manufacturing facility, preferably within the automotive field.
  • Ability and willingness to adopt flexible work hours in order to support the launch of manufacturing processes and meet program demands, including travel approximately 25% of the time (domestic and international).
  • Consistent track record of efficiently implementing process improvements and cost‑saving initiatives.
  • Excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.) for the purposes of communicating, preparing reports, and organizing data.
  • Experience using advanced digital technologies to optimize processes, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and data analytics.
