- Lead prototype and pilot builds; validate process capability and ensure robust handover to production.
- Maintain data integrity in PDM/ERP systems, ensuring product records are current, traceable, and revision-controlled.
- Provide expert support to resolve build issues, supplier queries, and installer feedback, including on-site troubleshooting for critical escalations as required.
- Collaborate with Quality to close NCRs/CAPAs, implement preventive actions, and drive a culture of zero-defect delivery.
- Prepare and review technical packs, approving drawings, labels, assembly instructions, and installation/O&M content for clarity and compliance.
- Provide strategic input on product roadmaps, engineering risks, and the operational impact of technical decisions.
- Lead cross-functional teams through root-cause investigations, product changes, and critical field escalations.
- Identify and implement process improvements, using data to prioritize opportunities and verify benefits.
- Represent Engineering in customer meetings, audits, and technical reviews, communicating complex issues clearly and pragmatically.
- Ensure products and processes meet applicable standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL 10C, fire/smoke testing).
- Strong proficiency in Solid Works and disciplined 2D drawing practice.
- Significant sustaining/EPD engineering experience in electromechanical or building-product assemblies (doors/hardware exposure is advantageous).
- Good knowledge of materials and processes such as sheet metal, machining, coatings, joinery, glazing, and assembly.
- Hands-on capability with bench work, fixtures, and prototype builds.
- Experience with PDM/ERP; understanding of DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, and validation methods.
- Proven ability to lead in cross-functional environments and manage priorities under time pressure.
- Relevant engineering qualification.
- Experience supporting manufacturing and working within regulated/standards-driven environments.
