Overview
Leidos seeks multiple RCx Energy Advisors/Engineers to market and support an RCx energy‑efficiency program for industrial and commercial facilities in the Detroit Metropolitan region. The role requires excellent technical, communication, and organizational skills, strong knowledge of retro‑commissioning of HVAC, lighting, and process systems, and the ability to develop relationships with customers, vendors, and professional organizations.
LocationMichigan – the ideal candidate will support large industrial and commercial facilities throughout the Detroit Metropolitan region.
Responsibilities- Identify RCx efficiency opportunities, calculate energy savings, maintain strong customer relationships, and deliver presentations.
- Conduct site surveys and facilities assessments.
- Work on‑site with facility managers, facility and manufacturing engineers, contracts, supplies and energy engineers to encourage energy‑efficiency practices.
- Conduct HVAC system assessments for general conditions and to identify energy‑savings opportunities.
- Perform energy analyses based on trending, bin weather data, and regression analysis.
- Review Building Automation Systems, assess opportunities, and perform verification work.
- Apply knowledge of all types of building systems, including HVAC, pumps, chilled water, hot water, steam, and compressed air.
- Evaluate energy‑consuming systems and consult on behalf of the utility energy‑efficiency program.
- Prepare reports and deliver presentations.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and physical ability to perform field verification of pre‑ and post‑installation of energy‑efficiency measures.
- Junior Level: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience in energy efficiency and/or energy management. May consider more years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Mid‑Level: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience in energy efficiency and/or energy management. May consider more years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience in energy efficiency and/or energy management. May consider more years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Demonstrated productivity and accuracy in the performance of work.
- Ability to perform ASHRAE level I, II, III energy audits for commercial and industrial facilities.
- Knowledge of different types of Building Automation Systems.
Salary ranges from $70,000 to $150,000 depending on level and other factors. Pay and benefits include competitive compensation, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement benefits.
