Responsible for the startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance support of instrumentation and control systems at end-user sites. The Field Service Engineer must be both mechanically and electrically inclined, able to work independently or as part of a project team in dynamic field environments. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and direct customer-facing professionalism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Field Commissioning & Startup
  • Perform field startup, commissioning, and debugging of instrumentation and control systems at customer sites.
  • Conduct loop checks, I/O verification, and functional testing of PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits including 24

    VDC, 120

    VAC, and analog signal loops.
  • Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot field instrumentation including transmitters, analyzers, and final control elements.
Customer Support & Documentation
  • Provide on-site technical support and operator/maintenance training to end users.
  • Document field activities including startup reports, punch lists, and as-built redlines.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to report site status and resolve open technical issues.
Safety & Site Compliance
  • Adapt to changing daily schedules and project priorities in the field environment.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and personal safety standards in accordance with CCI requirements and site-specific safety rules.
  • Follow all customer site rules and regulations including drug/alcohol testing, PPE requirements, and safety protocols.
  • Mechanically and electrically inclined with strong troubleshooting ability for 24

    VDC, 120

    VAC, and analog control circuits.
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation setup, calibration, and commissioning techniques.
  • Experience with PLC or SCADA systems in a field setting is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability in changing field conditions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and represent CCI professionally at customer sites.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and general business/reporting software.
