Our client, an industry leader in water resource management, is seeking a Facilities Power Maintenance Engineer to join their team. As a Facilities Power Maintenance Engineer, you will be part of the Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) supporting the Maintenance Department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Facilities Power Maintenance Engineer
Location: Detroit, Michigan
Pay Range: $40-$42/HR
What's the Job?- Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of electrical power equipment across the facility.
- Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities for electrical systems, including switch gear, transformers, and large VFDs.
- Provide troubleshooting support and implement improvements to enhance system performance.
- Manage multi-year power equipment maintenance contracts, including scheduling preventive maintenance and overseeing repairs.
- Analyze electrical power disruptions using advanced software tools and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Possession of an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical power systems, including low and medium voltage equipment.
- Experience with electrical safety standards and compliance, including NEC, OSHA, and NFPA codes.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in power monitoring software such as Schneider Electric’s Power Monitoring Expert.
- Excellent communication and technical support skills to collaborate effectively with team members and contractors.
