EV Charging Field Service TechnicianWe are searching for a skilled and motivated technician responsible for onsite repair and maintenance of EV charging stations in a specific geographic region, including site safety, electrical system maintenance/repair, site field reports, and other duties required to operate the site according to contractual requirements. The position requires independent work with little supervision and field work under various conditions.
Core Responsibilities- Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/revisions to EV chargers ranging from Level 2 to DC Fast Chargers.
- Conduct insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues and locate/isolate ground faults.
- Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling to ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to and work orders are completed accurately and on time.
- Review site manuals and drawings to ensure proper service and maintenance of equipment.
- Perform electrical and mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance of site equipment, site field reporting, work order completion, and other work as needed.
- Document all site issues in the work order system and address them in a timely manner.
- 2+ years’ equivalent experience servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field or formal electrical training.
- Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of EV chargers, solar installations, or other applicable power electronics preferred but not required.
- Experience using a CMMS to generate, track, and complete site work requirements.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English for safe job performance and communication.
- Ability to work in all elements (heat, cold, rain, and snow) depending on geographic region.
- Experience working around high voltages and currents.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment, including a hard hat and safety glasses, and perform site safety assessments and generate JHA/LOTO documentation per OSHA and site requirements.
Competitive wages with a base pay range of $23,000 – $40,000 USD, plus performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool and equipment stipends, and a company vehicle.
