BIW Automated Tooling Mechanical Design Leader opportunities in the Auburn Hills, MI. Area!

This is not a product design position. BIW Automated Tooling and Fixture Design experience is required.

An International company with a facility in the Auburn Hills, MI area is seeking a BIW Automated Tooling Mechanical Design Leader for a Direct Hire opportunity with their growing team. These are exciting opportunities for Mechanical Designers with experience in Body in White Tooling (BIW) that are looking for a company that offers stability, excellent opportunities for growth, a full benefits package, and competitive pay rates!

The Mechanical Design Leader position is anticipated to be salaried with pay rates in the $100k to $120k/yr range, based on experience. All well qualified candidates will be considered regardless of pay rate. We also offer excellent benefits including:

Qualified Body In White Tooling Design Leaders will have most, if not all, of the following skills and experience:

• Willingness to coordinate with the client, Project Manager, and Project Engineer as the Design point of contact to review and analyze new and current BIW projects.
• Ability to monitor design projects to confirm they are being completed on time and within budget.
• Experience managing in house and outsourced design teams is a benefit, but not a requirement.
• BIW CAD tooling/fixture/mechanical Design experience using Catia, NX, AutoCAD or other closely related CAD software.
• Ability to develop 2D and 3D CAD draft designs and review designs for costs and accuracy prior to issuing to the Project Manager.
• BIW Simulation experience is a benefit, but not a requirement.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% local or overnight to client locations.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States (no student visas considered).
• Must be able to complete standard pre-hire checks including background, drug screen, references, etc.
