Environmental Engineer
The Environmental Engineer supports a variety of projects including site assessments, remediation, compliance, and redevelopment. This role combines fieldwork and office work, including sampling, data analysis, and report preparation.
Key Responsibilities- Perform environmental sampling (soil, groundwater, air, stormwater)
- Conduct site inspections and ensure regulatory compliance
- Support site assessments, due diligence, and remediation projects
- Analyze environmental data and prepare technical reports
- Assist with permitting and regulatory submittals
- Support design, installation, and maintenance of remediation/vapor mitigation systems
- Coordinate field activities and subcontractors
- Manage multiple tasks/projects and maintain accurate documentation
- Bachelor’s in Environmental or Civil Engineering (or related)
- 3–6 years of relevant experience
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Experience with environmental sampling and compliance inspections
- Knowledge of environmental regulations (EGLE preferred)
- Strong reporting, data analysis, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS, and data tools
- Valid driver’s license
- EIT certification; PE or on track
- Experience with air quality, modeling, or remediation systems
- Mix of field and office work with travel to project sites
- Outdoor work in varying conditions
- Occasional overtime/weekend work as needed
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.
