Automotive Electronics Validation Engineer (EMC Test Consultant)
Location:
Detroit Tech Center, MI (Onsite/Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Electronics Validation Engineer to support critical supply chain resiliency and alternate sourcing initiatives for automotive electronic components. This role will focus on validating electronic systems and ensuring compliance with environmental and EMC requirements.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute validation test plans for electronic components impacted by alternate/local sourcing changes
- Support Tier-1 and Tier-2 supplier resiliency strategies through risk assessment and component substitution analysis
- Ensure compliance with automotive environmental and EMC standards
- Lead validation activities in accordance with GMW 3172 (Environmental & Durability Testing) and GMW 3097 (EMC Testing)
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure product reliability and compliance
- Strong experience in automotive electronics validation and testing
- Hands‑on expertise with GMW 3172 and GMW 3097
- In‑depth understanding of EMC testing and environmental qualification processes
- Experience working with Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers and supply‑chain engineering teams
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive validation test plans for modified or alternate‑sourced components
