Senior Electrical Engineer
An industry leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with a focus on Healthcare projects for their Detroit team! Responsibilities include technical design leadership, project oversight, coordinating tasks required in the project scope of work with specialists for fire alarm, technology and lighting design, coordinating tasks with architects, mechanical/plumbing engineers and other disciplines for equipment power needs and sizing electrical distribution, performing electrical design calculations for electrical loads/panel schedules, developing electrical systems one-line diagrams, selecting/scheduling electrical equipment, editing specifications to reflect the project requirements, meeting with vendors to determine specification requirements for application, coordinating with other disciplines for all Electrical design elements, preparing design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents, performing project construction administration including response to RFI's and accurate review of submittals, performing field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects, performing analysis, design and documentation of power distribution, lighting systems, and grounding systems, reviewing designs prepared by others as part of Osborn's QA/QC process, attending meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require, working with department manager(s) for planning and managing the design process to the available hours in the work plan, participating in improvement of department standards of design, including drawing details and specifications, and mentoring/training junior staff.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, 6+ years of electrical design in consulting engineering, experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects, PE License preferred, strong knowledge of design and analysis software (Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, Easy power), proficient knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), State Energy Code, NFPA, and FGI Guidelines, strong experience with electrical system studies (short circuit, over-current device coordination, and Arc Flash Hazard analysis per NFPA 70E), proficient knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
