Director Of Scheduling
Selectek is seeking a highly motivated Director of Scheduling to support the business goals and objectives of the client in Detroit. In this role, you will collaborate closely with construction, engineering, and project teams to develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive project schedules across large, complex projects. You will be responsible for creating and updating schedules throughout all project phases—from conceptual planning through engineering and construction—while providing clear, consistent updates on project progress, risks, and schedule impacts to internal leadership and external stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Strategy
- Collaborate with preconstruction managers, project managers, engineers, superintendents, contractors, and project services staff to develop detailed project schedules from conceptual planning through construction
- Develop baseline schedules, milestones, and sequencing strategies aligned with project scope and delivery goals
Resource & Schedule Management
- Create and manage schedule logic, constraints, activity durations, and resource availability
- Evaluate impacts of scope changes, design modifications, and delays
- Communicate schedule updates, risks, and recovery strategies to company leadership and clients
Risk Management
- Identify schedule risks and assess potential impacts to project delivery
- Proactively develop mitigation and recovery plans to minimize delays
Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and participate in discussions with owners, general contractors, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Attend project meetings and present schedule updates, metrics, and statistical reports to stakeholders
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track project progress using performance metrics and reporting tools
- Adjust schedules and plans as project conditions evolve
Quality Assurance
- Integrate detailed schedule fragments and ensure proper sequencing and constructability
- Maintain schedule accuracy and integrity across all project phases
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and project outcomes through new technologies, tools, or methodologies
Required:
- 15+ years of construction scheduling experience
- Proven experience scheduling $100M+ projects in:
- General construction
- Electrical construction
- Manufacturing construction
- Technology or infrastructure (utilities, communications, buildings, or energy)
- Strong experience gathering, maintaining, analyzing, and reporting schedule data
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
- Valid U.S. driver's license and passport
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong time management and ability to work across multiple projects
- Experience preparing progress reports and coordinating meetings
- Ability to develop and maintain detailed project plans in fast-paced environments

Salary range: $170,000 – $210,000 (Additional compensation may include bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package)
