Job Title: Entry Level Robotics Assembly Engineer

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Robotics Assembly Engineer to join Vision Nav® Robotics US Hardware Operations Team based in Detroit, Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for AGV assembly, calibration, commissioning, maintenance, and hardware support throughout the product lifecycle while ensuring standardized processes, product quality, and successful customer deployments. The AGV Hardware Operations Technician will work closely with Project Management, Deployment and Manufacturing teams to support the complete hardware lifecycle from assembly through post-deployment support.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachlor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field; or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to perform hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and equipment commissioning.
  • Familiar with reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, technical documentation, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel to or commute between client’s project locations as needed.
  • Willingness to support on-site AGV deployment, debugging, troubleshooting, and customer training.
  • Ability to safely work in warehouses and industrial environments which are around industrial equipment, forklifts, AGVs, and construction environments.
  • Ability to work independently while following standardized operating procedures.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 60 lbs., operate hand and power tools, and perform hands on mechanical and electrical work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with AGVs, AMRs, forklifts, industrial automation, robotics, or heavy equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with project implementation, equipment debugging, or customer-site technical support is preferred.
  • Experience on using CAD, Solid Works, diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, torque tools, laser measurement equipment, or calibration instruments.
  • Experience creating or following SOPs, work instructions, or technical documentation.
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, calibrate, test, and commission AGVs in accordance with standard operating procedures and company quality standards.
  • Perform pre-project preparation, preventive maintenance, recalibration, field service, and post-deployment support.
  • Conduct quality inspections during assembly, calibration, and commissioning to ensure system reliability and compliance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues in both workshop and customer site environments.
  • Support customer-specific hardware modifications, non-standard engineering requests, and special project requirements.
  • Record assembly time, calibration results, quality issues, failure data, and service findings for project documentation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide customer training on AGV operation, routine maintenance, safety procedures, and basic troubleshooting during project handoff.
  • Collaborate with Project Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to improve deployment efficiency, product quality, and service outcomes.
  • Maintain tools, calibration equipment, and work areas in compliance with company safety standards.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies to maintain a safe working environment during assembly, commissioning, and field service activities.
