Job SummaryThe Engineering Manager leads a team of Product Engineers focused on the design, enhancement, and commercialization of Oldcastle Infrastructure's product lines across multiple brand categories.
This role is best suited for a working engineering leader who combines strong technical depth with the ability to develop people, drive execution, and influence cross-functional outcomes. The successful candidate will be a technical leader, capable of guiding engineering work while elevating team capability.
In addition to overseeing day-to-day engineering execution, this role leads strategic projects and customer-driven initiatives, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and commercial teams. The Engineering Manager is accountable for delivering high-quality product design outcomes that meet business, regulatory, and customer expectations, while continuously improving engineering processes and effectiveness.
Job Location- This position will be remote in the United States.
Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop Product Engineers, focusing on building technical depth, accountability, and career growth.
- Act as a technical leader, providing hands‑on guidance while scaling team capability.
- Drive workload prioritization, performance management, and consistent delivery of high-quality engineering output.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and growth‑oriented team environment aligned with company values.
- Take ownership of strategic, high‑visibility engineering projects, driving execution clarity, pace, and accountability.
- Contribute to new product development (NPD) initiatives – while applying a structured product development approach (stage‑gate or equivalent) to manage progression from concept to commercialization.
- Support the full product lifecycle, including enhancements, cost reductions, and sustainment engineering.
- Lead execution of product design, prototyping, validation, and regulatory approval activities.
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex engineering challenges, with a practical understanding of manufacturing constraints.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet applicable standards, quality expectations, and customer requirements.
- Champion scalable processes, including design control, ECM/ECO, and NPD governance where applicable.
- Drive improvements in engineering workflows, documentation quality, and design standards.
- Partner with Operations to support production readiness, tooling development, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Marketing to provide technical support for customer‑facing activities.
- Apply lean principles to improve efficiency, quality, and repeatability across engineering.
- Engage with customers, job sites, and industry events to provide technical expertise and gather feedback.
- Act as a technical representative of the company in external engagements when required.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of hands‑on product development experience with physically manufactured products.
- Prior mentorship, project leadership, or informal supervisory experience required.
