Leidos is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to join our Engineering & Architecture team supporting Energy & Utilities projects. In this mission-driven, highly collaborative role, you will lead the analysis and design of foundations, steel and concrete structures, and utility infrastructure for power generation, transmission, and critical facilities. Responsibilities include preparing calculations and drawings, performing structural assessments, ensuring code compliance, mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with multi disciplinary teams, and supporting clients on complex, real world infrastructure challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead civil/structural design for energy and utility infrastructure projects
- Perform structural analysis and calculations for steel, concrete, and foundation systems
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Conduct structural assessments and develop retrofit/upgrade recommendations
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and clients
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
- Support proposals, estimates, and project planning activities
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes
- Interface with clients to understand requirements and present engineering solutions
Required Skills
- Structural analysis and design
- Steel and reinforced concrete design
- Foundation and deep foundation design
- Finite element analysis (e.g., STAAD, SAP
2000, ETABS, RISA) - Civil site design for utility/energy projects
- Load calculations for equipment and structures
- Familiarity with energy and utility industry standards
- Project engineering and coordination
- Technical report writing
- CAD/BIM tools (Auto
- CAD, Revit, or similar)
