Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineer, Systems Engineer
We are seeking an experienced senior engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of next-generation automotive electronic systems. This role is responsible for providing technical leadership across the hardware development lifecycle, from concept through production launch, while mentoring engineering teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automotive electronics and electrical systems, with demonstrated experience leading the development of high-voltage products and systems used in electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid vehicles, energy storage systems, or related applications. This individual will play a critical role in driving technical excellence, innovation, and product quality within our engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the architecture, design, development, and validation of automotive hardware systems and electronic control units (ECUs).
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to hardware engineers throughout the product development process.
- Drive system-level design decisions while balancing performance, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
- Lead design reviews, technical risk assessments, and root cause investigations.
- Collaborate closely with software, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams.
- Define hardware requirements, specifications, verification plans, and design standards.
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and production launch activities.
- Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Manage technical interfaces with customers, suppliers, and external engineering partners.
- Stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends related to electrification, power electronics, and automotive electronic systems.
Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience developing and launching high-voltage automotive products, including:
- Battery management systems (BMS)
- High-voltage power distribution units (PDU)
- Inverters and converters
- On-board chargers
- Electric drive systems
- Energy storage and battery pack electronics
- High-voltage sensing and protection circuits
- Electrified propulsion systems
Candidates with experience designing hardware operating at voltages above 60V DC, and familiarity with high-voltage isolation, safety, and protection requirements, are especially encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
- 8+ years of hardware engineering experience, including technical leadership responsibilities.
- Proven experience designing automotive electronic hardware products from concept through production.
- Strong knowledge of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics design.
- Experience with schematic capture, PCB design, and design-for-manufacturing practices.
- Strong understanding of hardware validation, reliability testing, and failure analysis.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts and technical decision-making.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Direct experience in electric vehicle, hybrid vehicle, or high-voltage product development.
- Knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO 26262.
- Familiarity with automotive quality standards including IATF 16949 and APQP processes.
- Experience with EMC/EMI design and compliance testing.
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and Flex Ray.
- Experience with power semiconductor technologies, high-current systems, and battery technologies.
- Previous experience leading globally distributed engineering teams.
