Title: Project Engineer
Location: Detroit MI 48226
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Pay rate: $50.00/hr. to $52.00/hr.
Shift: Business Hours.

Description:
  • Responsible for leading the planning, design, execution, and oversight of construction and building systems projects that maximize the value, reliability, and lifecycle performance of facility assets.
  • This role manages the development and implementation of project designs using internal engineering resources, external consulting firms, or design-build delivery methods.
  • The Project Engineer directs all phases of project execution, coordinating internal construction trades, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Accountable for developing, monitoring, and controlling project budgets, schedules, and resources while maintaining a strong focus on cost efficiency and operational excellence.
  • Ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while meeting customer expectations, organizational objectives, and all applicable local, state, and federal codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Serves as a key liaison between engineering, operations, contractors, and business partners to identify solutions, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, engineering, and construction of capital improvement and facility infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, procurement activities, and contractor performance.
  • Coordinate internal and external design resources to develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure quality workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving technical and operational challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, contractors, and cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Drive project execution strategies that maximize facility asset value, reliability, and long-term performance.
