Osborn Engineering is seeking a Senior Structural Restoration Engineer with 15+ years' of experience to join our team. This position reports to the Manager of Structural Engineering and will work out of our Detroit and/or Grand Rapids, MI office location.

Structural Engineers work closely with directors, managers and engineering staff to ensure client's needs and expectations are met and exceeded in a timely fashion.

Osborn is a fully integrated multi-disciplined design firm that uses a specialized team approach to engineering projects. These teams are comprised of a staff of 390 plus professionals that provide designs for all phases of a wide range of projects. Osborn has specialists in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and life safety, technology engineering, transportation and commissioning. Position Responsibilities
  • Design of public and private development projects.
  • Preparation of drawings & specifications.
  • Conduct assessments and reports.
  • Preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
  • Opportunity to actively work on concrete, steel, wood and light-gage designs.
  • Interaction with in-house architectural and MEP project team members.
  • Interact directly with facility owners.
  • Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals.
  • Project management.
  • Review designs prepared by others as part of the QA/QC process.
Job Requirements / Qualifications
  • BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
  • PE/SE is preferred.
  • 15+ years of structural design experience.
  • Structural analysis software experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • (Preferred) Experience designing multiple types of buildings, both architectural and industrial.
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Industry knowledge required.
