Job Description Engineering Change Coordinator Work Arrangement:

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to our Detroit/Hamtramck plant location

Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV, Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV & Cadillac Escalade IQ are assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these outstanding products!

The Role:

As Engineering Change Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and presenting timing of engineering work orders for the plant. This role involves significant amount of interaction with other departments within the plant, central office, and suppliers. The Engineering Change Coordinator should have a high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, analytical ability where problems are somewhat sophisticated, and good oral and written communication skills.

What

You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
  • Coordinates the implementation of assembly plant engineering changes.
  • Develops and finalizes part breakpoints with guidance from supplier, engineering, and marketing.
  • Analysis of specification related issues.
  • Processing of deviations to specs.
  • Responsible for writing local specs for plant.
  • Uses eMERGE for engineering change inquiry information.
  • Works reports designated for EWO changes and breakpoints.
  • Creates and distributes EWO notification sheets.
  • Communicates with supplier on change status.
  • Maintains EWO log for each model year.
  • Manages MGO activity for old/new part changes.
  • Verifies Production Trial Run (PTR) status for all changes.
  • Works with offsite locations to implement engineering changes.
  • Attends PFEP meetings.
  • Participates in EIT, CAB, MVB & Program Launch meetings.
  • Makes disposition of interim obsolete material
  • Coordinates the disposal/return of replaced parts.
  • Maintains ISO standards.
  • Implements, monitors, and maintains GMS elements.
