Estimator – Manufacturing, Power & Energy Construction
We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to take the lead on bids and proposals for our manufacturing, power, and energy construction projects.
We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. What You’ll Do- Review drawings, specifications, and pre-bid information to develop a thorough understanding of project scope and estimating requirements.
- Develop detailed trade scopes of work and supporting documentation for each estimate.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring pricing is accurate, competitive, and aligned with project requirements.
- Develop alternative solutions and value-engineering options, making recommendations based on cost, quality, engineering, and materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Support our operations team on awarded projects, including pricing change orders and helping resolve contract and cost-related issues.
- Work closely with our proposal team to develop complete, professional proposals, including schedules, project narratives, organizational charts, and supporting documentation.
- Develop conceptual estimates and proposals to support business development and early-stage project opportunities.
- Negotiate subcontractor agreements and issue subcontracts in line with project requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using preconstruction and estimating software.
- Strong understanding of estimating methodologies, cost control, and conceptual estimating.
- Ability to develop accurate and comprehensive proposals with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain inclusions, exclusions, clarifications, and project requirements.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 7+ years of estimating experience.
- Experience with in manufacturing, power, energy, industrial, or complex commercial construction is highly desirable.
