Our client is an establishedU.S. subsidiary of a privately held European manufacturing group
, located in
Toledo, Ohio
with approximately
50 employees
. The site operates in a
precision manufacturing/tooling
environment and supports demanding industrial customers. To strengthen local leadership and enable the next stage of growth and professionalization, we are hiring a
Head of Finance
with site-level HR oversight.

The Role

As
Head of Finance (incl. HR Oversight), you will own the full finance agenda for the Toledo site, manage
two direct reports
, coordinate external partners, and drive transparency, controls, and scalable processes. You will be a trusted business partner to local management and the key interface to the European parent company for reporting, planning, and governance topics.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on finance leader who enjoys operating close to the business while building robust structures in a mid‑size manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities Finance & Controlling
  • Full ownership ofP&L, monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
  • Deliver accurate financial statements and
    KPI dashboards
    for local management and
    European group reporting
  • Lead
    manufacturing cost accounting
    (job/project costing, margin and variance analysis)
  • Manage
    cash flow
    , working capital (AR/AP, inventory), and liquidity planning
  • Coordinate year‑end close, audits, tax topics, and compliance with external CPA/tax partners
  • Improve finance processes, internal controls, policies; support ERP/reporting enhancements
HR Oversight (site-level)
  • Oversee essential HR processes: recruiting coordination, onboarding, documentation, performance cycles
  • Partner with managers on employee relations; ensure alignment with group policies
  • Coordinate payroll/benefits administration with internal/external partners
  • Support compliance with U.S. employment practices and internal standards
  • Lead and develop
    two direct reports
    (Finance/Accounting & HR Administration or similar)
  • Act as the main interface to the
    European HQ
    across reporting, planning, and improvement initiatives
  • Support local development initiatives (process improvement, cost transparency, growth readiness)
What We’re Looking For
  • 7+ years
    experience in Finance/Controlling, ideally within
    manufacturing/industrial
    environments
  • Solid exposure to HR processes in a mid-sized company (hands‑on or via oversight)
  • Experience working with an
    international HQ / group reporting
    environment strongly preferred
  • Hands‑on mindset with strong structure, prioritization, and execution
  • Confident communicator across functions and cultures (U.S. site + Europe)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business (CPA/MBA a plus)
