. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to play a central role in strengthening financial operations that directly support the community.
As Controller, you will report to the CFO and lead critical financial functions—including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, and Financial Reporting. You will shape policies, drive process improvements, support ongoing systems implementation, and ensure the organization maintains the highest standards of transparency, compliance, and financial stewardship.

Key Responsibilities- Oversee AP, AR, Payroll, and General Ledger activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all financial operations.
- Lead the preparation of monthly financial statements, reporting packages, and the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) in accordance with GAAP and GASB standards.
- Develop, implement, and enforce organization-wide accounting policies and internal controls to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Drive process improvements across financial systems, including optimization and integration within the cloud‑based ERP environment.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to a team of finance and accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - CPA required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including at least 3 years of supervisory responsibilities.
- Proven experience overseeing AP, AR, Payroll, and Financial Reporting functions, including ACFR preparation and audit coordination.
- Medium to larger sized company background with complex accounting, shared services, multi‑site or related experience needed.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, internal controls, and governmental or public‑sector accounting standards preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (ORACLE, SAP or similar) and financial reporting tools; strong analytical and communication skills.
