Payroll Administrator

Our client is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a contract-to-hire, hybrid role in Detroit, MI. This role is ideal for someone with strong ADP Workforce experience who can take ownership of payroll processes while supporting accounting and administrative functions and ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Process biweekly payroll, including pre/post reconciliations and reporting
• Manage wage adjustments and maintain payroll data
• Generate and provide reports as needed
• Track and reconcile benefits LOA accrual
• Train payroll users and assist with new hire payroll orientation
• Support special projects and audits and collaborate with finance and accounting

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience, including biweekly payroll
• ADP Workforce experience strongly preferred; public sector experience preferred
• Knowledge of multi state payroll, FLSA, IRS, and federal and state tax regulations
• Experience with payroll reporting, reconciliations, tax filings, and internal controls
• Understanding of GAAP, governmental and fund accounting principles
• Knowledge of budgeting, contract administration, and financial management practices
• Proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems, accounting and financial software, and Microsoft Office including Excel
• Ability to maintain payroll records, manage compliance documentation, and support audits
