The Vice President of Finance Operations serves as a key strategic and operational leader within the Finance organization, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role oversees the Controller, Director of FP&A, and Treasury Manager, driving the coordination, performance, and integration of core finance functions. The position ensures alignment across finance teams, drives execution of key initiatives, strengthens internal controls, and builds scalable processes to support organizational growth and compliance requirements.
EssentialResponsibilities

- Act as the CFO’s operational and thought partner on key initiatives and translate organizational strategy into financial plans and forecasts.
- Establish and maintain an operating cadence for strategic execution to provide visibility into progress, risks and required course corrections.
- Drive end-to-end execution of key strategic finance initiatives, proactively removing roadblocks and escalating issues to the CFO.
- Serve as the central coordinator across FP&A, Accounting, and Treasury.
- Ensure alignment of financial goals, priorities and timelines.
- Strengthen internal controls and audit readiness.
- Sponsor change management within the finance organization, communicating vision, aligning stakeholders and ensuring teams are trained and supported.
- Lead finance transformation initiatives, drive automation and standardization.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes and controls.
- Strengthen internal controls and audit readiness.
- Ensure documentation and process discipline.
- Foster a culture of trust and psychological safety where team members feel safe raising issues, offering ideas, and constructively challenging one another in service of better outcomes.
- Model collaborative behavior and inclusive leadership to promote “one finance team” thinking.
- Drive accountability across finance teams.
- Encourage cross-training and rotational opportunities across the finance functions to build empathy, broaden skill sets and deepen a sense of shared ownership for outcomes.
- Be a visible and accessible leader.
- Host periodic in‑person cross‑functional sessions with Operations, HR and IT to strengthen bonds between finance and other teams and underscore Finance’s role as a true partner.
- Build and develop a high‑performing finance leadership bench, including setting role clarity, coaching and mentoring for controllers, FP&A leads and other key managers.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of finance experience.
- Strong understanding of FP&A, accounting and treasury.
- Minimum 10 years of proven leadership and team development capabilities.
- Experience leading cross‑functional team initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial controls.
- Exposure to systems implementation or scaling operations.
- Strong communication and executive presence.
- CPA preferred.
- Required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.
- Team member frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Noise level is typically low to moderate.
