ELIGIBILITY:
Open to residents in Michigan, Arizona, West Virginia and Ohio.
As a Grant Accountant supporting efforts you will support the following areas:
Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Responsible for having prior grant knowledge and discussing this process with the teams
- Prepare grant ledgers forecasting expenses for Federal, State and local grants for multiple entities
- Ability to crosscheck and verify data coming from multiple systems (financial accounting, payroll, state/federal reporting systems, internal ledgers)
- Understand Federal reporting guidelines with continued professional development to maintain knowledge as guidelines change
- Ensure reporting requirements are met in multiple systems (pre- and post-award)
- Responsible for Federal, State and Compliance Audits for multiple entities
- File cash requests for various grants as needed
- Provide information to finance and accounting staff as necessary to assist in month-end close activities
- Prepare invoices and requests for payments to funding agencies and reconcile grant expenses
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel experience helpful
- Must possess a high level of accuracy and be detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple projects and to respond to dynamic situations as they arise
- Knowledge/experience with Uniform Guidance helpful
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics or Accounting (strong knowledge of GAAP required and Grant experience)
- Experience in grants financial management
- 5+ Years of Accounting experience
- Strong technical skills, including Microsoft Dynamics and or Netsuite
- Advanced level Microsoft Excel skills, being able to manage several large workbooks and Grant tracking
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical skills
The annual starting salary for this position is between $60,000 – $75,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
