Role Description The Loan Officer Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Metro Detroit, MI. This position supports Loan Officers throughout the loan lifecycle by gathering and organizing borrower documentation, preparing loan files, and tracking application status. Daily responsibilities include communicating with clients, real estate professionals, and internal team members to ensure all required information is complete and accurate. The Loan Officer Assistant helps with initial file review for underwriting, updates internal systems, and follows up on outstanding conditions.
This role also involves maintaining detailed records, supporting compliance requirements, and contributing to a smooth, timely closing process while delivering consistent and professional customer service.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting Loan Officers and familiarity with the mortgage loan process.
- Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry, including basic loan products, terminology, and regulatory considerations.
- Strong Customer Service skills with the ability to handle client inquiries professionally and empathetically.
- Understanding of basic Underwriting requirements and documentation standards.
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal, to coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing multiple files and deadlines.
- Proficiency with mortgage or loan origination software and standard office applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, document management).
- Ability to work on-site in Metro Detroit, MI and collaborate effectively with the local team.
- Prior experience in lending, real estate, banking, or financial services is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
