This full-time, on-site Mortgage Loan Officer role is based in Southfield, MI. The Mortgage Loan Officer will work directly with clients to understand their financial needs, explain loan products, and guide them through the application and approval process. Daily responsibilities include originating mortgage loans, gathering and verifying documentation, coordinating with underwriting, and ensuring compliant, timely processing of files. The role also involves maintaining strong customer relationships, providing clear and honest updates, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver a smooth closing experience.

Mortgage Loan Officers are expected to actively develop new business through referrals, networking, and community outreach.

Qualifications
  • Experience working as a Loan Officer, with a strong track record in originating and managing residential mortgage loans.
  • Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry and Mortgage Lending practices, including common loan products and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of Underwriting principles and ability to prepare complete and accurate loan files for review and approval.
  • Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and support clients throughout the loan process.
  • Relevant state licensing or registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO), or eligibility and willingness to obtain required licenses.
  • Proficiency in mortgage loan origination software and basic office productivity tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and build relationships with referral partners such as real estate professionals.
  • Prior experience in residential lending, banking, or financial services is preferred.
