Special Education Transportation Aide

Available HoursMonday – Friday (split schedule)
Responsibilities- Assist special needs students boarding and exiting school buses (occasionally lift when necessary)
- Assign students to seats and adjust safety traps
- Observe students during transportation and react promptly to behavioral needs
- Assist students during medical emergencies
- Attend in-service training and workshops as established
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Some knowledge of and/or experience supporting special needs students (preferred)
- Ability to exercise considerable patience and physically, emotionally, and mentally assist disabled students during their transportation to and from school
- Ability to work cooperatively with students and parents
- Ability to complete and satisfactorily pass background check
- Ability to present current CPR/First Aid, Physical, and TB/Skin Test
- Establish a relationship with one of the nation's largest referral agencies for behavioral-health
- Compensated weekly
