Special Education Transportation Aide

Monday – Friday (split schedule)

• Assist special needs students boarding and exiting school buses (occasionally lift when necessary)
• Assign students to seats and adjust safety traps
• Observe students during transportation and react promptly to behavioral needs
• Assist students during medical emergencies
• Attend in-service training and workshops as established
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent
• Some knowledge of and/or experience supporting special needs students (preferred)
• Ability to exercise considerable patience and physically, emotionally, and mentally assist disabled students during their transportation to and from school
• Ability to work cooperatively with students and parents
• Ability to complete and satisfactorily pass background check
• Ability to present current CPR/First Aid, Physical, and TB/Skin Test

• Establish a relationship with one of the nation's largest referral agencies for behavioral-health
• Compensated weekly
