Central Intake Specialist - Hospice - 40 Hours - Day

Shift: Days 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as the first point of contact for new hospice patients and their families. This role requires a compassionate communicator with strong organizational skills, capable of handling sensitive conversations while efficiently managing data and insurance verification. Under general supervision of the Leader of Central Intake, is responsible for

• Intake of new referrals by phone, fax and/or computer.
• Enters referral demographics into computer.
• Coordinates insurance coverage with the Billing department and assists with coordination of care.
• Routinely interacts with physicians, nurses, case managers and the general public regarding the coordination of patients' transitions of care and ongoing care in the home.

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• College level coursework in business preferred.

• Requires a minimum of two (2) years of intake, customer service or billing experience.
• Home Health Care intake or billing experience preferred.
• General knowledge of medical coding and medical terminology required.
• Advanced computer knowledge, keyboard experience and Microsoft Office experience required.
• Knowledge of Epic preferred.
• Ability to analyze and improve intake procedures required.
